Where are they now?
JOHN MURPHY
Note, the late John Murphy. Sadly the world music community of noise and experimentation lost the incredible talents of John Murphy. A ubiquitous and friendly 'funny as fuck' soul, John had a very long music resume from years in Melbourne as well as spending a lot of time in the UK and Europe.
He passed away in 2015 far too early - for fans and diehards, you can find a memorial tribute to John 'All My Sins Remembered – The Sonic Worlds of John Murphy'
MARK OF CAIN
Still going, these three from Adelaide had most humble DIY origins (used to see them at Max's Petersham playing to a handful) before being picked up to play festivals and the like when US heavyweights like Helmet and the like would visit. Known for their ferocity and pulsating rhythms, they may well have fitted in with bands like The Stranglers and Joy Division in the heady days of post punk origins. However they didn't but they sure did put Adelaide on a more well known map throughout the 90s and into the millennium.

FLAME FORTUNE
Flame turned up at Radio Skid Row around 1990-91 after one of the Matrimony members recommended that I interview Flame. An interesting conversation ensued one early morning at Radio Redfern on air.
Flame was very LA and quite the performer as well. Unbeknownst to me at the time, Flame was once the girlfriend of Michael Hutchence who produced this 12 inch - she had visited Australia in 1985 and appeared on Countdown and also Sounds Unlimited at the time. Here are some candid talks about how she got into the music industry Here is a video too.
Sadly Flame passed away in 1991 after being murdered in LA County. The INXS song 'Show Me' from their album 'Elegantly Wasted' was rumoured to have been written about her. Flame's legacy continues on to this day ..
